Marine fauna of the Natural Park. Fish in Cabo de Gata

The marine fauna of the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park is one of its greatest treasures and therefore we must not forget the snorkeling equipment when visiting its beaches.

Here we leave a list of the most common fish of the coast of Almeria so you can identify them. Each species lives in different habitats so if we are close to the shore, the most normal thing will be Saddled Seabream, Karanteens or Common Two-banded Seabream. As we go into the sea we will see more and larger species.

The greatest concentration of fish will be found in the posidonia meadows that are about a mile from the shore and at a certain depth, so we would need specific equipment to get there.
