Cala de Enmedio is an extraordinarily beautiful beach with very nice sand, thin, golden and without a single stone. It has a length of 150 meters, an optimal swimming conditions and average occupancy levels in August and very low the rest of the year. From the beach the views are fantastic; it's able to see the town of Agua Amarga across the bay and behind it, Cerro Mesa Roldán with its lighthouse and its castle.
On either sides of the beach there are fossilized dunes, which like stone tongues into the sea allow visitors to explore, and contemplate the clear water among the stones. In these rocks were formed, due to erosion, small pools where water accumulates.
This cove located in the heart of the Natural Park is a pristine beach, with no services, no paper bins or cleaning service, so we must be respectful and keep the space clean. Any debris, garbage, paper, cigarette must return with us and leave this space as we found it. Cala Enmedio appears in the Repsol Guide 2012 as one of 10 most beautiful places in Spain. Also, The New York Times in an article in his magazine had referred to the beauty of this cove.
Nearby is Cala del Plomo, this cove is wide, with fine sand, and the bathroom nice because its progressive enter into the water. The easy way to reach it by car makes that it has almost always RV or vans parked.
If you have car from the road , which is the road to Agua Amarga, we take the exit that tells Fernán Pérez; after traveling 700 meters we will see a indication to Cala del Plomo, we must take it. On the way we will cross the heavily fortified farmhouse Cortijo de la Rambla del Plomo, which was built between the XVII and XVIII to protect farmers of around from attacks by Muslim pirates. After traveling 6.5 kilometers since we left the main road we reached Cala del Plomo.
To reach Cala de Enmedio we park here our car and go back walking the path that led us to the beach Cala del Plomo, 200 meters on the right, find the way to Cala de Enmedio. It's an easy path, with gentle slopes, 1.5 km away.
Another option is to leave the car in the parking lot of the Agua Amarga Beach, we go up Depósito Street and once past the last houses take the path to the left. This way is about 2 miles with some hills.
